Marist College Emerald is a modern co-educational Catholic secondary College located in the vibrant Central Queensland town of Emerald. The College was opened in 1996 by the Diocesan Catholic Education Office and established in the tradition of the Marist Brothers and is a member of the International network of Marist schools.
Now with an enrolment of over 600 students and a teaching staff of approximately 60 in total, the College is highly regarded as a provider of quality Catholic secondary school education.

Opportunities for Professional Growth and Leadership
The College caters for a full range of academic and vocational subject areas from Year 7-12 and is well resourced. Staff members are regularly able to attend in-service training and networking opportunities provided by, and in conjunction with the Diocesan Catholic Education Office (DCEO), other agencies and other schools in the district.
College staff enjoy positive professional relationships and actively participate in collaborative planning networks. Recent graduates’ are made very welcome at Marist College Emerald with the Staff Induction Program ensuring a proactive learning environment for those new to the teaching profession.
Extra curricula activities are an important aspect of College life and Marist College is regularly represented at major events such as the Queensland Independent Secondary Schools Netball (QISSN), Ballymore Rugby Union and Confraternity Rugby League Carnivals, the local Central Highlands Eisteddfod and the Queensland Catholic Schools Music Festival.
A Great Social Life
Staff at Marist College Emerald enjoy an active social life and new staff are warmly welcomed into the fold. Several big events are incorporated into the College social calendar including the annual Race Day and regular social events with staff from St Patrick’s and St Brigid’s Catholic Primary schools. Many staff are part of social sport teams including cricket, rugby union, rugby league, netball and touch football, all of which are popular in Emerald.
