Process for Enrolment
We are delighted that you have taken another step closer to choosing Marist College for your child’s secondary education. We understand that choosing the right school for your child is an extremely important decision. At Marist College we aim to make that transition a smooth process for your family.
Enrolments are prioritised in accordance with our Enrolment Principles and Procedures. In the event a place cannot be offered, parents will be notified, and their application may remain on the waiting list.
Completing your Enrolment Application
Marist College has moved to an Online Enrolment System. Please read each part of the application carefully so you are aware of our expectations as far as your child’s enrolment at the College. We are all aware that secondary education is an important time when educational foundations are built upon, and seeds for the future are sown.
Required Documents
Prior to beginning the application, please ensure you have following documentation in PDF format to be attached when requested:
- Birth certificate or extract or identity documents
- Sacramental certificates (if applicable)
- Health care or concession card (if applicable)
- Documentation relating to additional needs (any reports, action plans, assessments, etc)
- Parent/Guardian’s driver license
- Court order, parenting plans, access restrictions etc (if applicable)
- Latest school report and/or reference from previous schools
- Behaviour report may be requested
If your child is NOT an Australian Citizen, you will need to provide:
- Passport or travel documents
- Current visa and previous visa documentation
- Evidence of the visa the student has applied for (if the student holds a bridging visa)
Enrolling in Year 7
1. Enrolment Application
Families considering Marist College Emerald for their child’s secondary education are encouraged to submit an application via the Online Enrolment System prior to the closing date. As part of the initial application process you will be required to provide details of the enrolling student/s and enrolling parties, Please ensure you have required documents (listed above) ready to be attached.
Please note: A $100 non-refundable application fee applies to each enrolment submitted.
2. Enrolment Interviews
After the closing date, interviews will take place at the College with the Principal or another senior member of staff. At least one parent or carer, along with the prospective student will be required to attend the interview. The interview involves a more detailed explanation of the ethos and educational practices of Marist College and seeks a commitment to these practices. It is important to understand that offers of enrolment at the College are not made at the interview.
3. Offer of Enrolment
Successful applicants will be notified in writing. Upon receiving an invitation to an offer, you will be sent a link to electronically sign and agree to the Enrolment Terms and Conditions outlined. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified and may be offered a place on the waiting list.
4. Orientation Day
An Orientation Day will be conducted in the final week of Term 4 for successful applicants.
Enrolling in Year 8 to 12
1. Application for Enrolment
If you are considering enrolling your child at Marist College in Year 8 – Year 12, we encourage you to contact our Enrolments Officer to discuss the process. Applications can be submitted via the Online Enrolment System. As part of the initial application, you will be required to provide details of the enrolling student/s and all enrolling parties, Please ensure you have required documents (listed above) ready to be attached.
